Accused was convicted of assault causing actual bodily harm c/s 241, Penal Code, and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and 10 strokes.
Noted: “The accused must have already received the 10 strokes … nevertheless, it is pertinent to point out that corporal punishment should only be awarded for such offences when there exist aggravating circumstances such as the use of exceptional violence or the fact that the victim is a woman or a child.”
