Accused carelessly drove off a road and ran into a dwelling house. He failed, inter alia, to report this accident to the police, for which he was fined Shs. 75/-, under section 61 of the Traffic Ordinance.
Held: Section 61 requires the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident to report it to the police only if injury is caused to a person or certain specified animals or to another vehicle. Since damage to adjacent property is not covered by the statute, the conviction was quashed.
