The husband of the accused, an old man, was involved in a fight provoked by a much younger man. The accused, a woman of between 55 and 60 years of age, approached the struggling men, and struck the younger man with an axe, causing his eventual death. She pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

            Held: In view of the accused ’s age, and the fact that she had spent some 8 month in custody awaiting trial, sentences of 1 day’s imprisonment was imposed, resulting in release upon the rising of the Court.
