Various articles of clothing were found concealed in several places in the accuseds house, fifteen days after they had been stolen from the house of the complainant. The accused was convicted of the original housebreaking and stealing c/ss 267 (a) and 248(1) of the Penal Decree.
Held “(T)he doctrine of recent possession was properly invoked in this case. The period of fifteen days is not a long one and the manner in which (accused) kept the clothes hidden ….. Demonstrates guilty consciousness.” Appeal dismissed.
