Discovery of documents is governed by the provisions of section 25 and Order XI, Rule 10 of Civil Procedure Code. It is the order of the court directing a party to civil litigation to make discovery on oath of documents which are or have been in his possession or power relating to any matter in question in action. Section 25 of Civil Procedure Act says that, the order for Discovery may be made either on court’s motion or on application of any party.
