A distinction between general land village and reserved land is provided under section 2 of the Land Act No. 4/1999 as revised No.4/2004.
1). General Land is a public land which not reserved land or Village land and includes un-occupied or un-used village land;
2). Village Land is land declared to be village land and in accordance with section 7 of the Village Land Act No.5/1999. It includes also any transfer of land transferred to a village; and
3). Reserved land is a land referred to by section 60 of the Land Act, No. 4/1999 e.g. Land reserved for public utilities, Hazardous land etc
