Reference is governed by provision of section 77 and Order XLI of CPC. It is the referral by a Court of Case or an issue arising in a case to another Court for a decision or opinion. Usually reference of a matter is made by Subordinate Court to Superior Court. Court may refer the matter to an Arbitrator. See the 2nd Schedule to Civil Procedure Code.
