Council for Legal Education is the body established under the Advocates Act Cap. 341, it is composed of 5 members namely:
1). The Chief Justice or his representative;
2). Attorney General or his representative;
3). Dean Faculty of Law of University of Dar es salaam or his representative; and
4). 2 practicing Advocates nominated by Tanganyika Law Society. Member holds tenure of not less than 3 years which is renewable.
It is charged with the duty of general supervision and control of legal education in Tanzania.
